Information supplied by visitors
Search-tool entries
When a visitor enters a name, place, or other search term into a search tool, that query is sent to the third-party provider that operates the tool. Wayne County Busted Mugshots does not store or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages
If you send an email or another contact submission, we retain the information needed to read and reply to it. We do not share that message outside our organization unless a legal requirement requires disclosure.
Technical information collected automatically
Like most websites, the site and its service providers may receive routine technical information when a page is loaded. That information can include:
- Internet protocol address;
- browser type and version;
- device type and operating system;
- pages viewed and time spent on them;
- the referring site, when one is provided; and
- access timestamps.
Cookies
Cookies and comparable technologies help us understand site use and maintain basic functionality. You can limit or block cookies through browser settings, although parts of the site may then work differently.
How information is used
- To operate, maintain, and improve the site;
- to pass search requests to the relevant partner service;
- to understand which guides visitors find useful;
- to diagnose and resolve technical problems; and
- to display advertising that may be based on interests.
External websites and advertising
The site links to public-agency pages, corrections resources, court portals, and third-party search tools. Once you follow an outbound link, the recipient site’s own privacy notice and practices control; we do not control its content or handling of information.
Advertising partners may use their own technologies to recognize activity across websites and tailor advertising. That activity occurs within their systems and is subject to their policies.
Parties that may receive information
We do not sell personal information. Depending on how the site is used, information may be processed or disclosed to the following parties:
- Search partners that process a submitted query;
- analytics providers that measure site use;
- advertising networks that serve advertisements; and
- law-enforcement or government entities when a valid legal order requires it.
Security practices
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards for the information we handle. No internet-connected service can promise complete security, however, and we cannot guarantee that a transmission or stored item will never be accessed improperly.
Visitors under 18
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted personal information, use the Get in Touch page to request its removal.
Your choices and requests
Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to:
- provide a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate information;
- delete information where appropriate; or
- stop certain processing where that option applies.
Changes to this notice
We may revise this Privacy Notice as the site or its practices change. A revised version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
